No, nothing racy. Just an actual recap of tonight’s bedtime transcript: (as intercepted while I stood outside Kenny’s door as he was falling asleep)…
“… Hi! Hi-eee! Music? Dance. Buttons, dance! Baa, dance! Kenny! eeeeeeeeeeee…. oh, dizzy. No dizzy. Fa-down. Oh no! Kenny fa-down! Doo’ op-pen. Op-pen. Dinner. Pink fish. Sauce. Dinner-time! Dada? Mama? Kenny-booboo! Juice. Waler. Wa-TER. Wa-TER! Baaaa… Moooo…. Dada? Blan-ked. Ahhhhhh… nigh-nigh Kenny! Mama? Kenny eat ‘pah-getti. Tooties. Choc-late chip tooties! Holy Moly. Kenny Holy Moly! Ha ha ha ha. Papa! Ha ha ha… Moly moly! ahhhhhhh….”
I fear the day when the big boy bed is introduced… Is there a way to tie kids in there so that they can’t escape?
Seriously, we’re getting close to time for a real bed. Any suggestions out there as to getting a rambunctious little rascal to actually sleep in a big bed?
Just let him be involved in the process. Let him help pick out the bed, then help daddy put it together and all the while talking about how exciting it is in a super high pitched voice! 😮 Love ya sis… glad mom is there helping out.

I say wait until you really think it’s necessary. There’s no going back once you do it and there’s nothing wrong with being in the crib well past two. If he’s happy there, leave him there. You guys have been through enough lately, I wouldn’t mess with things.
i am still amazed with his speaking abilities. He is very gifted! Take care of yourself!

There is hope. Tyler is very active…very active. And we put him down awake at night to fall asleep on his own and he does the same thing. Well in January(he was about 19 months) we thought we would try out a big boy bed since baby number 2 is on the way. We thought it would give us time for him to get used to it. I was scared to death that he would play and run around his room until he passed out. But to our surprise he layed in his bed and talked himself to sleep just like he always did. He will not get out of his big boy bed until we go in there to get him. It’s like he’s still in his crib and can’t get out, even though he could. I’m so glad and relieved that he doesn’t. I don’t think this works for all kids as well as it did for us, but it should give you some hope that Kenny, though very active may just do the opposite of what you may think. Tyler is always surprising us!

That is so cute… Kenny is precious. I’m glad things are starting to get better… you’ll be all healed in no time. My son is 8 months old and he’s already doing things to keep me in his room longer before I lay him down at night. He showers me with kisses, one after the other, in attempts to keep me there. As much as I wish I could stay… I say thank you, give one last kiss, and say goodnight. By the way, I love your blog, it’s so heartwarming, and you’re adventures with Kenny are so much fun to read. I put a link to it on my blog I hope thats okay.
